Shirdi Sai Baba Foundation has adopted 20 Para cricketers who are playing under the Banner of Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India (PCCAI) in view of the Para Cricket World Cup scheduled to happen in 2019.

SSBF has always come forward for the upliftment and development of physically challenged sports person be it Para Athletes or Para Cricketers. One Campaign in which Foundation has adopted 10 Para Athletes keeping in View the Paralympics 2020 in Tokyo “Radiant in Quest of Gold powered by Johnson Controls Hitachi” is already successfully going on wherein the Para Athletes has recently won 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze in Para Asian Games in October, 2018 at Indonesia.

The Foundation has thought likewise for Para Cricketers and adopted 20 Para cricketers in consultations with PCCAI under the banner of which these cricketers are playing. These 20 Para Cricketers are from different states of India and are playing from their respective states. Foundation will provide and help them in getting even the basic requirements of theirs starting from the infrastructure to playing conditions, grounds, Kits, training from a capable Coach, mental sessions, personality development programs and many more, so they get the required training, and most of all the confidence to win at such a big and international Event – the Para Cricket World Cup to be held in 2019.

For the extra ordinary and exemplary work done by Mr. Aushim Khetarpal for supporting the Para Athletes and Cricketers, PCCAI has awarded Mr. Khetarpal with the PCCAI PRIDE AWARD 2018 on 3rd December, 2018 at a cricket event at Bhiwani, Haryana, which was meant to start the practice for 2019 world cup.

As per Mr. Khetarpal “As he himself was a sportsperson, it gives him immense happiness when any sportsperson or the team of India wins at International level”. Nowadays every company/brand is getting associated with Sports but the Para Sports is left behind and that’s why Foundation has come forward to help these special children of God who are also called “Divyang”. Foundation will be helping these Para Cricketers as per the grading formula of A, B and C category as discussed with PCCAI and approved and the amount as per the grading system will be deposited in their respective accounts. Apart from this Foundation will also be providing these Para Cricketers with their cricketing kit and gears requirements. Foundation is planning to spend a good and handsome amount for their training by getting a capable Coach so that they also get technically fit. We’ll also try to raise the sponsorship for these Para Cricketers and the amount raised from that will be spend totally and purely on these Para Cricketers after all this is everyone’s dream to see our Country’s team winning the Para Cricket World cup. I have seen these cricketers playing and they are playing with the leather ball, one was bowling at a speed of more than 130 kmph with some superb Yorkers and one among them with just one hand hitting the Six. It’s quite amazing to see them playing and I would request the Corporates and brands to come forward and help them achieve not only theirs but the dream of whole country of Indian team winning the Para World Cup in 2019.
